Both now bypassed by the A55 but well worth visiting and with their own beautiful beaches, both of which have cafes to keep you fed.
Snowdon and Llanberis
Obviously, when in North Wales you need to visit Snowdon and even if you just drive through the area you will be amazed by all of the natural beauty. If you want to climb any of the trails or go up to the peaks make sure you are prepared. It can be a be beautiful weather at the base and then totally different at the summit. The easy way to do it is to take the train, this runs from early spring through to the autumn. It gets very busy so plan ahead and book your tickets in advance.
The railway station at Llanberis
Once you get to Llanberis at the foot of Snowdon you will find the serious walkers and climbers. As well as the tourists who want to enjoy the scenery. If you decide that you are going to attempt to climb the mountain please make sure you are fully equipped. That you are sure of what the weather is going to be on your climb and at the summit. Always make certain that someone knows where you have gone and at what time to expect you back. Of course, take a mobile phone with you just in case.
